Enabling Multilingual Posts on Facebook:
Facebook offers a feature to enable multilingual posts, ensuring that your content reaches a wider audience.
- Navigate to Settings and Privacy > Settings.
- Select Language and region.
- Several language options and settings will be shown on the screen. Select Share your post in multiple languages.
- Turn this option on to enable publishing multilingual posts for your Facebook account. Doing so prevents any language conflicts on your Facebook page, allowing you to post in various languages seamlessly.
On top of this feature, other strategies you want to consider when publishing content on Facebook are SEO and hashtags. That’s right, hashtags aren’t dead on Facebook!
Optimizing Content on YouTube:
When it comes to YouTube, subtitles play a crucial role in engaging viewers across different language demographics.
On YouTube Studio, you can manage details of your video such as description, subtitles, playlists, and the like. If you are aiming to reach multilingual audiences, I highly suggest that you incorporate multiple languages in your video descriptions, subtitles, title translations, and even hashtags.
TikTok and Instagram: Maximizing Reach Through Multilingual Content
The visual-centric platforms of TikTok and Instagram offer unique opportunities to expand your reach through multilingual content.
I recommend using English as the main language of communication if you’re targeting multiple countries and you’re a small business owner with no plans to become a large brand. Additionally, consider adding multiple languages in your captions, subtitles, and hashtags. By doing so, you can maximize your reach and engagement beyond English-speaking markets without having to create multiple versions of content for each language.

LinkedIn: Tailoring Content for International Audiences
LinkedIn, the professional networking powerhouse, presents a platform for reaching a global professional audience. Choosing a main language to publish posts and engage with others on the platform is ideal.
From my experience, this trick works in capturing multiple target audiences: adding a second language title. This can help capture the attention of the targeted language group alongside the English-speaking audience with one post.
Adding hashtags in multiple languages is also valuable to increasing online visibility.
Pro tip: LinkedIn is all about presence and engagement. Create attractive thumbnails, a hooking first sentence, and unique storytelling to captivate your audience from start to finish.
Proper Use of Multiple Language Hashtags
Incorporating multiple language hashtags in your content is no different from using hashtags for one language. We apply the same rule of thumb in selecting multiple language hashtags: add hashtags relevant to who you target, what you offer, and which possible pain points your audience is dealing with.
I recommend adding three hashtags per category, and using ten hashtags per language for maximum visibility.
Tool Recommendations for Efficiency
Localization and translation are key components of successful multilingual marketing. As a business owner running a global marketing agency based in South Korea, localization and translation are parts of my team and I’s daily work agenda. Working out the best ways possible for efficient translation and localization is always on top of our minds.
In our experimentation with different tools and software, we have tried ChatGPT, Gemini, and DeepL. While ChatGPT and Gemini still have room for improvement for translation, we discovered that DeepL is the most reliable for near-accurate translations. My team members native to Japan, Korea, and other English-speaking countries further customize these AI-translated copies for proper context and accuracy. We also use Grammarly to double-check grammar and sentence structure.
