Welcome back to part two of our deep dive into the world of global SEO! As we have established in the previous blog post, a successful global marketing strategy hinges on two crucial aspects: broad global SEO and local SEO. While part one explored the intricacies of broad global SEO, today’s focus shifts to local SEO.
In this blog post, we’ll equip you with 3 powerful local SEO strategies to attract more customers and fast-track your presence in the market.
These are the exact steps that I follow when it comes to discovering the right localized SEO keywords, as well as well-targeted SEO keywords.
1. Define Your Main Keywords and Target Keywords.
These are the keywords that are directly related to the products or services offered by the business and the target customers.
1) Main keyword for the item
This keyword represents the key features of the item. For instance, if the item is a new smartphone, the main keyword for the item could be “new smartphone,” “latest smartphone,” or “best smartphone.
2) Keyword related to the target group
This keyword is likely to pique the interest of the people who constitute the item’s target customers. It may relate to their demographics, interests, needs, or pain points. For example, if the target customers are predominantly teachers, the keyword for the target group could be “teaching resources,” “online learning,” or “education technology.
3) Other keywords of interest to the target group, related to the item
These keywords are also likely to captivate the target customers, as they seek to gather more information about the item. If the item is a new smartphone, these keywords could include “smartphone specifications,” “smartphone price,” or “smartphone reviews.

- Determine the similarity and intersection of each keyword.

2. Define the Trending Keywords for Your Industry
These keywords are becoming increasingly popular among the target customers.
- Analyze the trend graph, gender distribution, and age distribution.
- Identify keywords that have recently experienced a significant increase in popularity.
- Compare the keywords identified in Step 1 (Main & Target Group Keywords) with the trends. Ask yourself: “Which keywords have consistently emerged in your industry, particularly recently? and which keywords are repetitive?” This approach will provide you with valuable SEO insights for future use.
- Search Engine(Google/Naver/Daum/Yahoo) Trends (website)
- Social media trends (such as Twitter, TikTok)
3. Find and Collect Location-Specific Keywords
You might not be familiar with the specific cities you are targeting, OR you just don’t know where to start to discover location-specific keywords.
- Analyze competitors' keyword usage through SEMrush.
- Alternatively, start by using location-specific modifiers like “near me,” “in [city name],” or “near [zip code].” You can achieve this by using a VPN like Express VPN if you are not in the country.
- Incorporate the main or target keywords with location keywords obtained from competitors.
- Utilize Answer The Public to generate a list of location keywords for free.
- If you have a small budget to invest, consider hiring a local individual to gather precise local terms for Local SEO keywords.
If you’ve followed steps 1, 2, and 3, then it’s time to create your own SEO titles for your website and blogs.
In the next episode, I will explain how to generate a targeted yet compelling SEO title by following specific easy steps! (My marketing book club members fell in love with this strategy, haha.) The upcoming episode will be highly beneficial for any businesses seeking SEO growth.
